Appearing day before yesterday on US chat show The Talk, Kelly Osbourne stunned viewers by opening
up and frankly addressing her personal cancer fears, revealing that she plans
to have her ovaries removed in the future.
The former Fashion
Police host stated: "I actually do have the cancer
gene", explaining that mum Sharon Osbourne made sure that the
family were tested after her own
cancer diagnosis back in 2012.
Following the
news that Angelina Jolie
decided to have her ovaries removed last week following
her preventive double mastectomy, Kelly said that she fully supported the
brave decision and would be following her example "100 per
cent".
"I
will eventually have to do it too because if I have children, I want to be
there to bring them up. I want to be there to support them in every way I
can," Kelly revealed honestly.
She continued
to say: "I have been the child of a cancer survivor, so being on that end
as well is really, really hard to deal with, so I'm so lucky to have the brave
mother I have that has taught me so much," she said.
Addressing
the media attention that Angelina's case has attracted this week, Kelly went on
to say what a positive thing it could be: "It's something I applaud
Angelina for because she's bringing attention to this, and people are now going
to go out and get tested for it."
What do you have to say about Kelly's plans for
her future? It still makes so much sense to see celebs open up about this. Comment
