READ: WHY RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT CANCELED CARNIRIV 2015

Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to Mr. Chris Finebone, the publicity secretary of the APC, that the state government have killed the culture of Rivers state and denied the people of Rivers state the much needed fun, by canceling this year’s CarniRiv. The statement said, that the state government should have made the CarniRiv its priority project.

We wish to remind Chris Finebone , Orji Ngofa and the leadership of the APC, that the state government issued a statement, that it would not be organizing this year’s CarniRiv, due to the dwindling revenue being experienced in the country, and the huge debt left behind by Rotimi Amaechi and the APC.
The state government said it will be more purposeful in government spendings, and shall undertake the payments of workers’ salaries, arrears and pension, and carry out other developmental projects in the state, than embark on this year’s CarniRiv.
However, the state government promised to carry on with a CarniRiv festival, that truly reflects our culture when funds improve.
