First Lady Michelle Obama and her two teenage daughters are on a visit to two
African nations this week to promote her education initiative, ‘Let Girls
Learn’.
Sasha and Malia, – who recently got accepted into Harvard – are accompanying
their mum Michelle on the trip to promote the initiative aimed at improving
girl’s access to education all across the globe.
The trio would be in Morocco and Liberia on
the three day trip, and would be joined by Meryl Streep and Freida Pinto.
“In Liberia, the first lady will meet with
President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first elected female head of state in
Africa, and have a discussion with local teenage girls, moderated by Pinto.”
USA Today reports.
“In Marrakech (Morocco), Streep will join in
for a conversation with adolescent girls. Costs for the actresses’ trip are
being picked up by CNN Films, which will air a documentary this fall featuring
the stories of girls in Liberia and Morocco who have overcome barriers to going
to and staying in school.” The report adds.
The
‘Let Girl’s Learn’ Initiative is one Michelle has put considerable energy into
the past few years, including releasing a rap song to
