Keeping Up With the Kardashians took a VERY dramatic turn of events last night,
with Kim rushed to hospital for emergency surgery on her uterus.
After struggling to conceive a second child, Kim
Kardashian decided to go in for a check with a fertility expert. During the
check, Kim was told that while giving birth to North West, parts of her
placenta had become stuck to the walls of her uterus.
"He's like ''Ok when you have your baby this
will be your last one," Kim told Kanye on
the phone, "because the problem is your placenta grew
onto your uterus. So when you have another baby, that placenta will go right to
that hole, and then we'll have a team of doctors waiting right there to remove
your uterus and put you into emergency surgery because you can't bleed
too much''.
Kim was then rushed to emergency surgery to remove
the placenta from her uterus, which will air on the show next week.
As a result of Kim's complications with her last
pregnancy, and the emergency surgery, she may now need to use a surrogate to
have a second child. "You can still get pregnant but it does expose
you to risks during the pregnancy," said her doctor. "If I can't
guarantee that and surrogacy is the only way to give you a comfortable pregnancy
and a nice healthy baby, we'll talk about that. I'm going to do everything
I can to clean your uterus out and keep it as healthy as possible, but do
what's safe for you."
Unfortunately, Kim isn't a fan of the
surrogacy idea. "Surrogacy is really scary for me," she told Kendall
and Jonathan Cheban during the show. "I don't want one, I don't want
that to be my reality. As much as I hated being pregnant, and I complained
every step of the way and joked that I didn't want one, I really don't want a
surrogate."
She then semi-joked about the risks
of having a "lunatic" carry her child, commenting that the surrogate
would need full time security before worrying about the possibility that they
could run off with her baby. "It would be so annoying if I couldn't carry
my own baby," she said.
