Photos: Kylie Jenner addresses the disturbing #KylieJennerChallenge

The #KylieJennerChallenge is nothing short of terrifying, and now Kylie Jenner herself has tweeted in response to the social media craze. The craze in question has seen fans use a 'lip-sucking' tool - or the suction of a small bottle - to plump up your lips in a bid to achieve the star's famously full pout.

Those taking part in the 'challenge' would leave the tool or bottle on their lips for around five minutes, or until it hurts too much, then takes selfies of their mouths. The result has been a swarm of horrendously bruised faces and swollen lips, all posted with the hashtag, #KylieJennerChallenge. Take a look...

In response, the star has tweeted: "I'm not here to try & encourage people/young girls to look like me or to think this is the way they should look."

Kylie added: "I want to encourage people/young girls like me to be YOURSELF & not be afraid to experiment w your look."

Though it's good that the star is encouraging her fans to be themselves and be confident, we wish that she'd also used her reach to shut this madness down. There are plenty of lip-plumping products out there that don't require bruising your face, so please try those instead of damaging the nerves around your mouth.
