DJ Khaled Quits Cash Money Records

2015 is such a bad year for Birdman. Embroiled in a bitter feud with protégé Lil Wayne, he’s also bleeding artistes left, right, and centre.

Weezy, of course, wants to leave, unhappy with delays in releasing his Carter V album and some monies owed him in royalties. It’s also entirely possible that if he wins the legal battle, he could conceivably carry off some of his own Young Money protégés such as Nicki Minaj and Drake.

Against this backdrop, hearing that Khaled has also left Cash Money might not be the best news right now. Khaled revealed that he’s off the label, and has now taken his ‘We The Best’ brand to Sony- who would release his next album.

He told Power 105’s The Breakfast Club… “I’m not signed to Cash Money at all. It’s not like I’m here to promote that I’ve been off. No, I’m not that type of person”
He also spoke on the Weezy-Baby feud, electing not to choose sides but emphasising that they’re both family.

“Lil Wayne and Birdman, that’s family. It’s still ‘We the Best.’ Nothing negative, everything is beautiful. “Lil Wayne, that’s my brother, Birdman, that’s family. And at the end of the day, it’s not my business, and I do pray for greatness and [that] everything works out”

Bow Wow also left the label in the past few days, having decided to pitch camp now with Snoop Dogg and Jermaine Dupri.
