Suge Knight Claims Dr Dre Tried To Have Him Killed - Sues Him For $300m

Suge Knight has thrown another twist into his long running murder trial by suing former protege Dr Dre for $300m whilst making the claim that the legendary record producer tried to have him killed.

Suge Knight run over Terry Carter during shooting of the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, and has been charged with murder since Terry died. Knight’s defence has been that some men were trying to kill him and he run over Carter, who was a friend, during his desperate attempt to escape with his life.
His new lawsuit claims Dre tried was behind the assasination attempt because he did not want to pay him money he owed him from his billion dollar deal to sell ‘Beats’ to Apple. Suge Knight claims in the suit that Dre agreed to pay him 30% of all deals he makes going forward at the time he left (Suge’s) Death Row Records in 1996. He said based on that deal, Dre owes him $300m from the Apple deal and it was to get out of paying that he tried to have Suge killed.

Lawyer for Dre, Howard King, is reportedly not impressed with the lawsuit.

“Given that Dre has had zero interaction with Suge since leaving Death Row Records in 1996, we hope that Suge’s lawyer has lots of malicious-prosecution insurance.” he said, according to the Rolling Stone.
