Kimberly Richardson made a chilling call to 911 after she was shot, in a
last ditch effort to save her unborn baby's life, WNCN reports. Richardson was 6 months pregnant.
The 25-year-old North Carolina resident struggled for breath as she told
police she'd been shot. The audio of the call, captured by TimeWarner News, is
disturbing.
Operator: 911, location of emergency?
Richardson: Help.
Operator: Hello.
Richardson: I've been shot.
Operator: Ok, what's your address?
Richardson: I'm at
Party City behind Triangle Town Center Mall.
About 30 seconds later, police sirens can be heard on the call, and
emergency responder were able to get Richardson to a hospital and perform an
emergency C-section to save her daughter's life. Not long after, Richardson
passed away.
Police have identified her boyfriend, Daniel Steele, 25, as the
suspected shooter.
At the family's request, no further details on how the baby is doing are
being released, but they have set up a fundraising page to help with Kimberly's
funeral costs, and medical bills for her baby, Lacy Grey, who, born at 6
months, may suffer some complications from being born prematurely.
