If you never really got the scale to
which Michael Essien made money during his first spell at Chelsea, the fact he
retains a London mansion with a £75,000 Range Rover parked inside whilst he’s
in Italy working should tell you enough.
Unfortunately, robbers also realised
that, and they hit the Ghana star’s mansion earlier this month. According to MailOnline,
they made away with the car from his house in Surrey, near Chelsea’s Cobham
training ground.
They hit other houses in the
neighbourhood, making away with a Mercedes and BMW. Police are yet to make any
arrests so far.
Essien shouldn’t feel this too much,
at his peak he was on over £100,000 a week at Chelsea. Even now, in his
twilight, he’s making around €2m a year with Milan.
Still, a robbery is never a pleasant
experience- so let’s hope those Grand Theft Auto experts are apprehended.
