An 18-year-old chap, Kwame Michael,
has beheaded the wife of his uncle at Nsuaem in the Ashanti Region after luring
his uncle’s wife to accompany him into the bush to carry cocoa beans from his
house.
After appearing before the Bekwai
Magistrate Court, his plea to the offence was not taken. He reportedly
confessed to the crime but is yet to reveal his motive for killing the woman,
the Daily Graphic reports.
According to the newspaper, the
Bekwai Police Command, with the assistance of the Nsuaem Number Two community,
have embarked on a thorough search for the woman’s missing head.
As reported by the newspaper, Kwame
Michael asked his uncle’s wife, Mavis Boateng, to escort him to the farm to
carry his cocoa beans. When he was later asked about the whereabouts of the
deceased, Kwame repudiated knowing where his uncle’s wife was.
After several hours of not knowing
the whereabouts of the deceased, a search was conducted. The team later found
Mavis’ body but without her head.
Funny enough, a fetish priest in the
town who had collected money, eggs, and a sheep from the people to reveal the
whereabouts of the deceased told them the deceased had been carried away by
some dwarfs into the spirit realm.
However, according to the District
Chief Executive for Bosome Freho, Mr Kwame Adarkwa, the suspect confessed to
killing the deceased to him.
