Gov. Wike partners With Chief Ateke Tom to Tackle Security Issues in River State

Governor Nyesom Wike has announced that the state government will partner with Niger Delta vigilante leader, Chief Ateke Tom to tackle security challenges in the state. Wike believes Chief Ateke Tom is a powerful force to reckon with in area of security.

You will recall that governor Wike in his electioneering manifesto, promised to take care of security issues facing the state.

However, populace of Portharcourt metropolis have raised eye browns, frowning at the decision of the state governor to work with an ex-militant leader in dealing with security issues. Many are criticizing that the governor is simply using the avenue to compensate Chief Ateke Tom for the role he played in favour of Wike, during the April 11 general election.
