A 7.5 magnitude quake that struck
Afghanistan and Pakistan on Monday has killed more than two hundred people in
the two countries, with the death toll expected to rise higher as more
information comes in.
The after affects of the quake were
mostly felt in the northern mountainous areas of Pakistan, with the tremors
being felt as far northern India and Tajikistan- the 7.5 magnitude quake
however, originating from Afghanistan.
The BBC reports that
214 people have died in Pakistan, with close to over 2,000 believed to have
sustained varying degrees of injuries in the after effects of these quakes.
Fifty two people are reported to have
been killed in Afghanistan, including 12 school girls who were crushed as they
rushed to get out of their school building.
