Nigerian singer Terry G was today involved in a ghastly car accident in Lekki, Lagos state.The terrible accident happened around 6am on Sunday morning.

According to an eyewitness,the crash happened when Terry G was on his way back from a night club between the 1st and 2nd roundabout in Lekki.

IFEANYI UBAH CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF FINANCE MINISTER AND CBN GOVERNOR

The Managing Director of Capital Oil and Gas, Ifeanyi Ubah has said the current economic crisis bedeviling the country should have prompted government officials saddled with fiscal responsibilities in the country to have resigned their appointments.

Ifeanyi Ubah has accused the Ministry of Finance and the CBN of applying only academic fiscal policies rather than practical ones in the face of economic challenges bedeviling the country.

A 42 year-old man, Mr. Samuel Omosaba was Tuesday evening arrested by the Police for allegedly beheading his three year-old niece, Adubarin Kola at Ilepa quarters in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North East local government area of Ondo State.

The Suspect, who is jobless and still single was said to have contacted a herbalist in Ipe-Akoko for blood money.

Supreme Court Explains Why It Declared Wike Winner of Rivers Guber Election

The supreme court has on Friday explained why it declared Nyesom Wike, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the April 11 2015 governorship election in Rivers state, as the duly elected governor of the state. 

The court held that the judgment of the appeal court affirming the judgment of the election petition tribunal sacking Wike was a nullity because the governor did not get a fair hearing as the facts he presented were not considered by the tribunal.

We’re Not Fighting Boko Haram With Substandard Weapons, Military Blasts Lai Mohammed

The military has denied the claim by Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed that troops combating Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East were doing so with substandard weapons purchased by the Jonathan administration.

This is even as the authorities said hopes of rescuing the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram about two years ago in Borno State have not dimmed. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said last weekend that anyone still assuring the nation that the girls would be rescued was a liar.

PHOTO: Woman Escapes Death As Van Somersaults, Explodes

A woman and her driver cheated death by a whisker on Tuesday after their delivery van somersaulted and went up in flames on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The vehicle, with number plate, Ogun AAB 163 XA, was heading towards the Sagamu area to deliver some cartons of sausage rolls to customers, when the accident happened around 11am at the Ibafo end of the expressway.

Information reaching me confirms that famous lecturer and former H.O.D of Mechanical Engineering in Rivers state University of Science and Technology, Dr. Etella has slept in the lord. 

Details of his death is still sketchy. Until his death, he was a very good and friendly lecturer.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

Student Drags RSUST To Court for Expelling Her Due To Speech & Hearing Challenges

A student who was expelled by the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, in 2015, for having “speech and hearing challenges” has sued the institution for damages to the tune of N20 million.

Jane Ottah, 28,‎ said the damages were for the trauma, embarrassment, and emotional distress caused by her expulsion.

Nigeria Delisted From Corrupt Countries Index

The Buhari Media Support Group (BMSG) has said that the the anti corruption war waged by President Muhammadu Buhari is yielding success which has led to the delisting of the country from the list of corrupt countries as compiled by Transparency International (TI).

In a press statement signed by the group’s national coordinator, Muhammad Labbo and the secretary, Cassidy Madueke, yesterday in Abuja, the group said that the campaign is gradually changing the image of the country to one where corrupt acts are no longer welcomed.

MTN: Ondo To Experience Network Outage Soon

MTN Nigeria, yesterday, said the closure of its facilities in Ondo by the state government would negatively impact on the quality of its service in the state and its environs. Millions of subscribers would be affected by the development, MTN said.

The telecoms operator said so in a statement issued by its corporate communications executive, Amina Oyagbola, adding that services that will be affected comprised voice and data services, voice traffic across other operators and international traffic, enterprise data service to third-party clients (mostly banks and other corporate clients), which may, in turn, impact services such as ATMs, POS and others.

APC DESPERATELY WANTS CONTROL OF OIL RICH NIGERIAN STATES?

BREAKING: Missing Bristow Helicopter Found In Lagos Ocean

An aircraft belonging to Bristow Helicopter that went missing on Wednesday while heading to Lagos from Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital has been found in the ocean with no life lost.

Adebayo Kehinde, public relations officer of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), confirmed the incident to TheCable but did not give details.

Bristow Helicopter Enroute Lagos From Port-Harcourt Goes Missing

A Bristow Helicopter flying to Lagos from Port Harcourt has gone missing. The aircraft 5N BJQ, flying at 1,500 feet with nine passengers and two crew cannot be located. The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has confirmed this development but details of the incident is yet to be revealed.

I don’t like money- Rotimi Amaechi

The minister for Transport and former governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi has disclosed that he suffered a lot in the hands of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as the governor of Rivers State.

“I suffered a lot about corruption without any proof against me by anti graft agency.”

He disclosed this yesterday while delivering a lecture titled “ Legislature and Executive Partnership for Effective Performance,” at a retreat for the executive arms of Plateau State government held at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) Kuru in collaboration with Jos Business School and German International Corporation (GIZ)
