Read: Eight simple but important lessons about money

Financial education is important.  From banks to credit card firms, fund managers and shops, there are a lot of smart people whose job it is to try and take your cash off you.
Learning more about money is a good way to keep hold of it and make more of it.
Here are some simple but important things I’d teach people about money.
  1. Save a rainy day fund
  2. Learn to love compound interest and returns – start small, save early and save regularly
  3. Buy things that last and are worth it
  4. Ask why is this person trying to sell this to me?
  5. Enjoy the money that you can afford to spare and be generous
  6. Borrow carefully and wisely – and pay it off
  7. Invest over the long-term – and learn to love compounding even more
  8. Your power to earn is the thing most likely to make you richer
