When a woman lists the qualities she wants in a man – first on the list is ‘He should/must be God-fearing’. It’s always the ‘Godly’ man because they attach ‘goodly’ to his godly nature. That is their choice of man they want/need and their reason/s for wanting such men is not far- fetched. However, the automatic ‘goodness and trust’ they ascribe to a supposedly ‘God-fearing’ man is what is very enthralling. Ask them who a God-fearing man is and they’ll quote Bible up and down for you.

10 men have been jailed for life for the bus attack on Malala Yousafzai in 2012.

Malala was shot in the head on her school bus in Pakistan's Swat Valley in what was believed to be an assassination attempt by the Taliban. Her "crime" was speaking up for the right of girls to be educated. Two other girls were wounded in the attacks.

Wike Promises To End Insecurity in Rivers State

Rivers State Governor-elect, Barrister Nyesom Wike, has assured international investors of an investment friendly environment beginning May 29, 2015.

According to the governor-elect, his administration will work towards improving the security of lives and property in the state.

Speaking during a meeting with Ambassador John Groffen, the Netherlands Ambassador to Nigeria on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, Barrister Wike said that the alarming insecurity in the state will be bluntly addressed to encourage investors to return to the state, Daily Independent reports.

Adamawa In Chaos As Gov. Bala Spends N400M on 4 Cars

This, PMNews reports, is as a result of the decision of the Adamawa state governor, Bala Ngilari to buy two Lexus SUVs for N180million ($900,000) and two Hilux pick up vans at N400million. News reaching us has it that Rivers State civil servants are getting text messages from Banks to apply for salary loans pending the payment of their salaries by the Rivers state government. It appears that the state civil servants salaries may not be paid any time soon. 

You will recall that Rivers state pensioners had carried out a protest, demanding for their unpaid pension. It is believed by many that the state has gone broke as  our Oga at the top, Chibuike Amaechi allegedly looted the state treasury to fund the APC.

The security team according to Punch cited security reports and ethical issues as reasons for their action.

Three suspected kidnappers apprehended in Rivers state, victim rescued

Rivers State Police Command yesterday nabbed three alleged kidnappers in Port Harcourt, the State capital.

The kidnappers were rounded up after they abducted one Chimkere Ejim, using a Nissan Primera.

According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ahmad Mohammad, the police apprehended the abductors after acting swiftly to a tip-off.

Child being tested for STDs after thinking a used condom was a balloon

An 8-year-old boy is facing a year of STD tests after mistaking a used condom for a balloon and trying to blow it up, KTTV Los Angeles reports. A teacher caught the boy with the condom in his mouth and had him quickly wash his hands and rinse out his mouth, but unfortunately the condom was thrown out before it could be tested for diseases.

NNPC Is Now Refunding Unremitted $1.48bn - Alison-Madueke

The Minister of Petroleum Resources Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday disclosed that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has started refunding the $1.48bn unremitted fund into the Federation Account as recommended by an audit firm, PriceWaterHouse Coopers.

She however did not disclose how much has for far been refunded by the corporation.

She also denied reports that she was seeking the assistance of some highly-placed persons in order to escape prosecution for alleged corruption from the incoming administration of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari.

Three men in their 50s arrested on suspicion of murdering missing chef Claudia Lawrence

Three men have today been arrested on suspicion of murdering missing chef Claudia Lawrence.  North Yorkshire police confirmed the men - all aged in their 50s and from the York area - were arrested this morning. 

The body of the missing chef, who was 35 when she disappeared in 2009, has still not been found. Officers have now launched a fresh search for evidence which could lead to her whereabouts, which is set to continue over a number of days.  

Disturbing 911 call shows pregnant woman saved her baby's life with her last words

Kimberly Richardson made a chilling call to 911 after she was shot, in a last ditch effort to save her unborn baby's life, WNCN reports. Richardson was 6 months pregnant.

The 25-year-old North Carolina resident struggled for breath as she told police she'd been shot. The audio of the call, captured by TimeWarner News, is disturbing.
